About First Citation

AI-powered search engines are fundamentally changing how people discover brands, products, and information. Unlike traditional search results where rankings are visible and well-understood, AI citation decisions happen inside a black box. First Citation exists to open that box.

We conduct independent research into how large language models select, rank, and present citations in their responses. Our tools give brands and marketers the ability to measure their AI visibility with the same precision they have long applied to traditional SEO.

Our goal is simple: every brand should be able to understand whether AI recommends them, why or why not, and what they can do about it. We publish our findings openly and build free tools to make AI search accessible to everyone.
